How to Seal a Pavement Crack in 24 Hours or Less

Cracks in your pavement can be a real nuisance. Not only do they look bad, but especially in the Cairns tropical weather, they can also cause problems with drainage and lead to bigger issues down the road. If you're looking for an easy way to fix them, follow these easy steps to seal them up in 24 hours or less!

First, remove any plants or debris from the crack. You can do this with a screwdriver or knife tip, then give it a once-over with the garden hose to blast out anything deeper. Then it is very important that once the space in the crack is cleared out that you allow it to fully dry. This may take more than a few minutes, so ensure that there is no surrounding debris that may blow into the space while you wait.

Once it's dry, apply crack filler until it's flush with the rest of the surface you're repairing. Something as simple as a spreader knife or even a plastic knife will be a good way ensure a flush application. Any excess can be wiped away with a wet wash cloth. After application, wait at least 24 hours until it's fully dry. When completed, consider adding a coat of water proof paint, colour matched to your pavers to complete the seamless repair.

And that's it! By following these simple steps, you can have your cracks sealed up and looking good as new in no time. So next time you see a crack in your pavement, don't ignore it - take care of it right away with this easy fix.
